Nice boots for a nice price. Comfortable right out of the box. I haven't had a real pair of hiking boots in years so it took a few wears to get used to having ankle support, but now it feels quite natural. Can't say for sure about the waterproofing ability, but it handles snow and slush quite nicely and keeps my feet dry and reasonably warm in cold weather. My only quibble with this boot are the lace hooks at the top. They are rather small and I would have preferred D-rings or something more substantial. If I try to lace up too quickly I often miss the small hooks or the laces often slip out if they are given any slack.

I ordered these boots just in time to take them on a trip hiking in the mountians of Tennesee. Wore them out of the box and on to the trail. The trail was wet and muddy with some snow. Not a beautiful fall weekend but you hike anyway. They were great!!! No problems at all. I have worn them here in Michigan snowshoeing and just hiking in the snow and love them. Toe box has plenty of room.

This was my first pair of serious hiking boots, suitable for multi-day backpacking trips with a heavy pack. So far, so good. Felt 1/2 size too big initially, but with heavy socks and insoles, felt perfect. Insoles are very thin, so expect to buy better ones. The boots need some break-in time, so keep this in mind when purchasing. Also, I found the thin laces to cut into my hands a bit when tying, but have accepted this. Overall, great buy and satisfied with my purchase. Very cute as well (not that that REALLY matters, but a good plus).

Bought these for my daughter to replace another pair of Scarpas she wore completely out (she wore them a LOT). She just got back from a Fisheries & Wildlife Club trip to Monterey and the Redwoods. She wore these to hike up Fern Canyon (where you hike up the canyon using the creek itself as a trail a good part of the way). Her feet stayed dry and she had a great time!

I use these exclusively for travel - they work on the plane, lacings make them fairly easy on-off at the airport and they are just wonderful for comfort with long days of walking. First pair of shoes I've ever had thatdidn't need breaking in.
