Scarpa of Italy was literally "born in a barn" back in 1951. Founder Luigi Parisotto began his footwear career in a small outbuilding, crafting hand-made shoes for the local residents with a near-fanatical attention to detail. After acquiring a flawless reputation with the locals, Luigi switched from farmer boots to mountaineering boots… and Scarpa of Italy was off and running, not to mention hiking and skiing and climbing. Scarpa of Italy has a reputation today that is second to none. With the latest shoe and boot technology applied to a wide ... Owned many great boots over the years. However, Scarpa are not one of them. Sizing is a major issue. In what world is a 43.5 = 10.5 (US)? This is the sizing I was provided. Needless to say, I cannot wear the boots. Proper sizing is 45 = 10.5 (US). Also, toebox is so narrow, you are guaranteed to lose a pinky toe nail over a multiple day hike. Whose feet are that narrow? Construction looks good, but I never got to try out for long period of time. I should have listened to other reviews that complained about these same things. Bottom line, if you want accurate sizing, go into store and buy them, not online. And be prepared for numb feet if buying Scarpas and using them over multiple days.

Just perfect! I ran and hike on trails almost every other days as far as the weather allows. This is my first trail running pair and fits perfectly to my purposes. Great design, color, and materials. Definitely narrower than other American shoes, which suits me well.

I had a pair of Scarpa Charmoz for many years and really enjoyed those boots. Eventually the gore tex liner broke down and they started leaking, and they always seemed a little narrow to me. These Scarpa Triolet boots build on what was great in the Charmoz with a noticeably wider forefoot area and more durable suede panels in the upper. They are not as light as some other alpine boots in this class, and they use the Vibram Mulaz sole which I don't care for much with their very shallow lugs, but the boots are supportive and comfy so far. If you have funny shaped feet you may do better in these than in other, more narrow European offerings. The ankle support is average, and the lacing hardware is not the greatest, but overall a good light alpine boot for wider feet.
