It is a high quality boot from a brand I have had good luck with previously but I am returning as I have tried two sizes and have had no success with the European conversion. For those who have better luck, these will probably be a good investment.

Comfortable right out of the box. Roomy toe box, good arch support, padded collar allows you to really secure your ankle and hold your heel down. I would rate it 5 stars, but I haven't been on an extensive hike yet. i

The speed laces are at an angle that makes you have to be careful in tieing your boot. I also wonder if this would be an issue on the trail. Haven't found out yet. No other complaints, but I'd dock a half star from 5 for that. I really like these boots in spite of that!

These boots are made of sturdy materials and have a vibram sole. It is hard to find similar boots for the price. The toe box is a little narrow but ordering a half size larger solved this problem for me. The color is darker than the photo and more of a greenish brown.

This is my second pair of these. The first pair have been resoled twice and are still but its time to start breaking in a new pair. Get them small since they do stretch. The heal cup is less agressive and does not put pressure on the achilles tendon like some others. but the heal does feel looser.

Will use this shoe primarily for mountain biking, however, it is so nice looking and comfortable that I will wear it for casual stuff too. They were comfortable as soon as I put them on, I wear a size 9, with a wide forefoot and the 41 fit perfect. The lacing is great for a custom fit.

After much time researching, these Scarpa Barun GT boots proved to be outstanding quality and boots I'd highly recommend. Something to take into consideration, though, is that these boots are incredibly sturdy throughout – providing no end of support - but meaning the toe area does not flex like most boots – but instead has an angled sole at the toe for movement; it almost leans you forward. This is something to get used to, but it's defiantly not a drawback and overall these boots are fantastic – rigid – quality.

Wonderful shoe, that fits like a glove (the pull-tight heel strap really works). (Order a half size smaller than your street shoes as this is all-leather and will stretch some. I wear size 12 regular shoes and am happy with my size 45 Technos) I got this shoe for all day trad climbs, but find I use it for everything (except the routes I need the extra psychup on - when I use my extra-tight size 44 Scarpa Visons). Edges and frictions well, beautifully crafted and looks like they'll last me years.

I am fairly new to climbing and have only done indoor bouldering. I've had two pairs of used 5.10s on which the soles wore through and was looking for a relatively inexpensive replacement with laces. These were a great deal and fit me well, with the laces giving me extra control toward the toe area where my velcro 5.10s were loose and sloppy (I must have a thin foot). I do notice the soles aren't quite as grippy as the 5.10s and I have lost a bit of feel with them, but I expect them to last much longer, which is a tradeoff I can live with right now. I may consider a more high performance pair for special problems but these are a great day to day shoe and I would recommend them. Btw, I wear 10-10.5 in street shoes and went with the 42.5. Fit is confortable; I may have been possible to go down another half size w/o too much trouble.
