5.0 out of 5 stars. Have several of these for various applicationsReviewed by DudeCat from MA on Tuesday, September 23, 2014Apart from the obvious tool for removing hooks, the forceps make quick work tying the improved clinch knot with soaking cold hands while on the water. Works well for tying loop connectors onto fly line, using mono material (hollow core braid is more work + expensive). Also have a pair on the fly tying bench that gets used when slapping fur/feather onto a hook.

2.0 out of 5 stars. Great size, but too flimsy for fly fishingVerified Buyer Reviewed by Jim, Eagle river fly fisher from Colorado on Thursday, September 11, 2014The finger holes are for a small diameter fingers and the metal is rather thin. I like to use my forceps for pressing metal split shots together, flattening hook barbs as well as removing hooks. These would be only for back up and are not strong enough for my use. Also my fingers get caught in the finger holes as they are rather small in diameter.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Very Handy ToolVerified Buyer Reviewed by Vetterun from Oklahoma on Wednesday, September 10, 2014The Scientific Anglers' curved forceps are a great tool and can't be beat for the price. I use these as pick-ups for any small parts related to a multitude of hobbies. I clamp small diameter vacuum and liquid lines on automotive projects as well. They are also handy for medical use such as removing splinters and such. I find them so useful that there are pairs in all of my tool boxes and throughout the house. The forceps may not be operating room quality, but that level costs a hundred times more. Oh, and they work great for fly fishing too.

1.0 out of 5 stars. My Fingers Work BetterReviewed by mattcjensen from Western Washington on Monday, June 9, 2014These forceps are so light they would pinch the barb on a size 10 fly without work. If a lightweight tool designed specifically for removing flies is all you need, this may be the tool for you. If you expect each of your tools to have multiple purposes, this isn't the tool for you.
