Scientific Anglers Mastery Freshwater Tapered Leader - 9'

After using a furled leader for two years, I have to say that a simple tapered mono leader still has its place in the fly fishing world. Not that the furled leader is bad but, it just doesn't deliver small flies like the standard tapered leader does. And this SA tapered leader from STP is just the ticket to get a reliable, great value leader. Standard mono tapered leader won't last you as long as the furled but it will deliver the small flies nicely. If one doesn't mind replacing leader every few solid outings, this SA leader from STP is the way to go. If one wants a long lasting leader, I would recommend the furled leader.

I haven't even tied them on yet. They sure do look like leaders though.

These leaders work well for nylon and are cheap. They are excellent if you have fishing buddies who "borrow" leaders.

This company has always made the best "pre-looped" leaders money can buy. For over 35 years I have used them whenever I could find them. The taper is great and the loop that comes pre-tied on them never catches or obstructs the presentation in any way. Lately I have been having trouble finding them in the stores in my area so Sierra Trading Post has been a god-send! Thanks so much!
