Bought these in large. Did not like the inserts, just use Smartwool glove liners instead and they fit great. Gloves are durable, waterproof, great fit, have idiot strings attached (strings that loop around wrists so you won't drop a glove by accident). Have 50 days on them this ski season so far.... Bought to replace a 10 year old pair of Scotts at the beginning of this ski season. I've used them skiing for 8-10 days without the liners down to about 18 degrees and they are pretty warm. They're too warm (for me) over 30 degrees. Don't like the liners as they are hard to insert and remove from the glove. They are also pretty tight with the liners in and the flexibility is reduced. That's the only downside to these gloves. The workmanship is excellent, the material first rate. Long cuffs (gauntlet) keep out snow and I love the leashes...no dropped gloves. The leather palm provides good pole grip and the suede thumb is soft enough to wipe goggles without scratching. The fit is an XL and is true to size.
The Dawson was a very good choice and are every bit as good as the glove they replaced

haven't used these yet so its just my overall impression. I bought these in XL as they were the largest size. My hands are not that big and in Marmots I take the XL. Without the included liners the gloves seem fine. With the liners they fit tight. Compared to my old gloves they seem really warm however and they seem like they are made to last.

Very happy with these, no issues at all. I used them in New Zealand and my hands were more than warm enough.
