Verified Buyer Reviewed by Fred of Lyons from Colorado on Friday, July 29, 2016Although this is nominally 2x tippet, its breaking strength seems very low--more like 4x or 5 x. It might be old and brittle. I would not depend on this tippet to handle large fish.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Jim, the Crazy Winter Fly Fisherman from Colorado on Tuesday, May 3, 2016I use this for spey fishing and it works very well. I attach about 2 more feet of tippet and it casts as well as a single strand of leader.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Riverplayer from Wisconsin on Thursday, December 31, 2015Love this line. I have been using regular abrazx for years for steelhead fishing tippets. It's tough, limp, and small diameter. After receiving spools of this line, I used a micrometer to check diameter and it matches up and fishes like standard abrazx. I'm guessing they just marketed the product as "ice" to grab another niche of the fishing market. Would be great for ice fishing as well! Nice spool size for my lanyard. Love it at half the price of standard abrazx. Remember this! If it ain't made in Germany or Japan, it ain't real fluorocarbon!
