I was hoping that this would work. With my hardsided case on the kindle, the opening is too small for the Kindle to fit inside the pouch. I measured the Kindle with the case on before purchasing so I thought it would work. I'm trying to decide whether to send it back. When I would use the pouch is when I want more protection with the Kindle cover; like the beach.

I bought this case on sale at REI last summer for my Kindle 3rd generation (the exact one pictured here), for use when walking my dog in the rain or reading at the beach (to protect the Kindle from sand/salt/mist). It works great. It replaces a similar item I bought previously from a different manufacturer that cracked along its plastic seam and couldn't be repaired. The seams of the SealLine are fabric, and I don't think there is any way for them to crack or tear or delaminate. The seal mechanism is similar to a ziplock bag but is solid and can't accidentally open. I've done multiple long outings in the rain with this and while all my rain gear has failed me and I come back with my rain jacket and boots soaked through, the Kindle has remained snug and dry. It's a little annoying to read in the rain as you have to keep wiping the drops off to be able to see the screen, but this case keeps it perfectly dry. I would definitely buy a backup here from STP if I thought this might ever wear out, but I don't think it will. I really wish they made one that fit my phone.

I have not used this yet and the closure doesn't seem like it would withstand opening if bumped a lot. Since I intend to take this on a rafting trip, I am not convinced it will actually not open/stay dry. I will probably use it in more normal conditions since the brand is generally reputable.

It shows a photo of a Kindle inside the case, but it is apparently a Kindle Paperwhite, as my 7" Kindle Fire would not fit into the case. Liked the case closure - easier to deal with than other waterproof cases that have several zip-seals to close and then a flap that rolls up. Wish it would have worked for me.
