We just got back off of a five day camping trip. Our tent was about 50 yards from the lake. This dolly worked great for getting our kayaks and gear to the water. My wife is very small and she couldn't believe how easy it was for her to get her gear down this rocky trail and right to the waters edge.... Read More

The cart assembles easily and the swing-down prop works great. Tie-down straps are included and work easily, better than ratchet straps. The only problem--typical of any rubber wheel products made in China-- is the awful stench of the recycled rubber. The cart cart has been sitting outside for two months in the hot Georgia sun and rain and still smells to high heaven. I hope a few baptisms in river mud will help tone down the odor.

I have found this cart to be pretty rugged and easy to set up and use. Works well with both of my kayaks which are very different in size, shape, and weight. I have also used it mostly on trails that are fairly rough and bumpy and the cart rolls with ease and makes pulling up steep slopes a breeze. I was also fortunate to pick this up during a significant sale and enjoyed a major savings. This is the third different boat cart I have owned and is much better than the prior two that came from a large Maine outdoor products company. I am very happy with this purchase.

I like the cart, its sturdy and transports my kayak with relative ease. I did have trouble getting it put together as the snaps that align with the holes didn't pop up and i had to dig them out with a screw driver. I also had to use a mallet to put the tubes together as they were hard to push together by hand. I am very handy so I don't think it was me, but the assembly was a little more difficult than necessary. That said it worked fine.

Having used this same cart owned by another person in the kayak club, I purchased one for myself in late Sep 2014. However, I did not have a need to assemble, nor use, the product until mid-Nov as I was headed out to the nearby lake for a solo paddle with my biggest boat. The product was easy to assemble, however, when I inflated the tires, I found that one of the tubes had a leak. I have yet to remove the tube from within the tire, however, it appears that the tube has either a defect at the base of the stem or the leak is due to a "pinch flat" caused when the tire/tube was installed on the wheel. FYI...I am familiar with mounting tires/tubes and inflating same as I road and mountain bike approximately three (3) days/week.

My wife and I usually just carry our 17 ft. canoe from the truck to waters edge, but I had planned an overnight trip father/son tip with my 11 year old, and purchased the cart last minute. It arrived on time and required little assembly, we were able to inflate the tires en route. In our haste to get on the road we forgot the straps but were able to use two ratcheting tie downs - without out the straps the cart will be useless on boats larger than small river kayaks. With the cart secure I was able to traverse 150 yds. of unimproved trail with about 75lb of gear in the boat with ease. With the coupon it was well worth the price and functioned as expected, tires are good quality and the frame is adequately constructed to handle the weight of most canoes and kayaks. 4/5 stars due to the difficulty to center and secure the cart under a canoe to prevent shifting over rough terrain.
