    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    I was pretty excited to use this on my commuter bike. However, the first ride I took with it was the last. The lower pice of hardware pulled right through the bag and fell off. I found it and keep telling myself I will go to a leather shop or upholstery shop and get it repaired. The bag itself is quite nice; waterproof and good heavy construction.

    Used this pannier to tote books around campus, workout clothes, and/or work clothes. The easy to use, quick release clamps are great and get me off my bike and where I need to be in seconds. A few things I like...Keeps things dry, Large capacity, easy to carry handle, won't make your bike lopsided with just one pannier attached, and that is just a few. For the price you can't beat this pannier.

    I wanted to use it on my mountain bike for commuting. I mounted it the way it should be mounted, and the back of my heel hits it every revolution. So, I hung it back further, which is less secure(the lower swivel/catch doesn't meet the rack), but works. All in all I still like it. It's easy to load, and fully waterproof.
