Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Think of this dry bag as a dry bag with shoulder straps, not a backpack that is waterproof. This dry bag is best suited for canoe camping with portages, and not for a long, water-logged backpacking trip, as the shoulder straps are not particularly beefy. Also, there is no waist belt, so your shoulders will be bearing the load. Great for its intended purpose.

I bought this bag to carry my camera equipment during canoe trips. I've seen a ton of dry bags but needed something with shoulder straps. I admit the straps are a bit feeble, but good enough for portages in the Boundary Waters!!

I bought these primarily as waterproof storage for survival supplies in the back of my 4WD PU (for unplanned breakdowns, etc). They appear to be strongly made of good heavy material, but I am worried about the attachment of the straps to bag. It's difficult to give a final judgement until they have bounced around in the PU for a year or so...RBV
