I use it as a backpack for transporting camping gear - 2 man tent, two sleeping pads, two sleeping bags - when flying to where I'll start my tour and as a drybag which sits on top of my rear panniers while touring. It is the right size to work as a large carryon and, with camping gear in it, quite c... Read More

This looks and feels like an extremely durable product.
The shoulder straps could have more padding and a abdominal strap would be beneficial.
After the top is folded down (Like most Waterproof Bags) to seal the bag, there is still ample room.
The bag will easily accommodate 4 towels, a change of clothes (for 2 people) and additional accessories (Phone, camera, small purse, etc).

Haven't used this this product yet. I purchased the larger bag and used it on several occasions and it was great. A couple of times when using the larger bag I thought that I didn't need as much bag and was happy to see the 1/2 size bag offered on sale.

I wasn't sure exactly how big this pack was going to be since the size was shown in cubic inches and most of these types of packs are measured in liters. I did do the conversion but still was a little unsure. Turns out it was a little bigger than I expected which was a good thing. I can get a tent, two sleeping pads and two sleeping bags in it without any trouble. Perfect for a canoe trip. Plus the price was great. Only thing holding back a 5 star rating is that I have not actually used it in the field yet. But so far it looks very promising.

    • Answer It's about the size of a medium duffle bag. Slightly understuffed it could fit in an overhead bin. I agree, it's not 63L! It is truly waterproof. The handles will hold it, but not the backpack straps. Backpack straps will be fine for clothing and a few small devices, but not for lots of weight such as food + multiple cameras.

    • Answer It might be too big for a 12 year. I got it for my wife and I think it is a good size for her and she is about 5 foot 2 inches. I think medium is the correct estimate. I have seen bags listed as large that are over 100L.

    • Answer This is Seattle Sports medium for this bag. It is approximately 63L.

    • Answer The volume is indeed 63 litres if you stand it on the bottom, hold it up and leave it open. The entire volume is about 63 liters. But you need to close it to make it waterproof and when you do, as you roll it down to secure it the volume is less. Every time you roll the bag to secure it and make it waterproof with its 4 attached clips, the bag is reduced in size. If the bag is rolled down to the max the clips will secure it, the volume is about 40 liters. A very durable daypack size. You can also squeeze the air out if you have soft items like clothing and then roll it up and the bag seems even smaller. It is a great bag and a great buy. I think you will like it. Strong. Waterproof. Adjustable.

  • Question “Will this bag fit a towel for the beach?”

Asked on 9/19/2014 8:33:40 PM by Megan from Brooklyn
    • Answer That would all depend on the size of the towel that is being used. According to the product overview above:
      Length: 25"
      Diameter: 14"
      Capacity: 3848 cu.in.
Answered on 9/24/2014 6:02:21 PM by Product Specialist Greg from Company Headquarters
    • Answer Absolutely....! It's about the size of an extra large stuff-sack sleeping bag. I bet you could get at least 2, mebbe 3 beach towels in there. We bought 2 of them for a trip through the Subway in Zion NP, and we had a ton of stuff in there. We also used it as a flotation device, to help a few of our timid swimmers across some of the pools. Great bag!

Sorry about the delayed response - I rarely check this email.

  • Question “is the closure for the bag roll over or buckle”

    • Answer Both. The top of the bag rolls over 2-8 times and is then buckled down the sides AND over the front (4 buckles).
