This is a good dry bag for the price. It is not as durable material as the NRS product and may rip easier if mishandles and also does not have the compression straps down the sides like the more expensive dry bags but for a raft trip or camping trip with family --it is a great value.

It is very big but works out well to take gear on the airline. The shoulder straps were mounted a little too high so they are not good for use of any distance. They also may not hold a heavy weight. The material is OK but not as strong as others and the seems are not totally sealed. So, use it for a gear bag for rain and splash. But I would not dunk it under and hold it. I put gear in individual dry bags inside this bag so it works well. On sale it's a good deal

The material is thinner than expected and may work better for a trip in an open bed truck better than the whitewater rafting trip I am taking it on, We like the carrying backpack feature.

Have now used this on one 50-mile desert river trip. It was more durable than I expected, but also slightly thinner material than Seattle Sports other dry bags. It is obscenely large - we put 2 tents, 2 tarps and 4 sleeping bags in it, with room for more stuff. I will definitely buy more.

I bought this as a gear bag just to carry back into a campsite if need be. It's huge and I do wonder just how it will hold up if there is much weight in it. However, for the price, I kept it; I'm sure that I use it in due time. I've even though about using it as a waterproof bag on top of the car rack. It's big enough for that purpose too.

Asked on 2/2/2012 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Unknown
    • Answer The Seattle Sports H2O Waterproof Gear Bag really is 8900 cu.in.

    • Answer They are indeed massive bags. Like a 45-55 gallon garbage bag - lol. Approx. 31" wide by 37" tall. The bottom expands so it's about 15.5-16" deep.

    • Answer I didn't measure it, but IT IS HUGE. That allows for double bagging and/or using smaller bags to compartmentalize. That's helpful, as with this much volume, without some organization, you can waste time every time you are trying to locate an item in the bag.
