Easy To Carry, Good Capacity, Strong Material, Tight Closure, Waterproof
Best Uses:
Backpacking, Paddling, Sailing
Describe Yourself:
Casual/ Recreational
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Took to BWCA canoing and kept clothes, sleeping bag etc. dry. When it rains you can leave bag outside and not have to bring everything in the tent. Also it would be useful if you carry your camping supplies in an open trailer (without fears of it getting wet). Also was used to carry food and was hung from a tree to keep away from bears. I don't know, but because it is water proof it may emit less food odors than a regular back pack.

Pros:
Easy To Carry, Good Capacity, Highly water resistant, Strong Material, Tight Closure
Cons:
Not for a small person
Best Uses:
Paddling, Portaging, Sailing
Describe Yourself:
Recreational
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
This dry/portage pack carries a very large volume of stuff. It will carry 70+ pounds w/o ripping.
It does the job in the BWCAW for keeping the number of portages to a minimum in lake to lake travel.
It is strong for its weight, dry, and relatively comfortable to hump over the trail.
It could also be good for rafting adventures and river camping. Not designed for back packing.

haven't tried this out on paddles- but would consider taking if we've got a big canoe- it would hold alot- but then might be too heavy. i'm actually thinking i'll use it to store things in at the cabin- i need to take a bunch of stufff out each year to make way for renters and think these are the perfect solution- back straps for help in carrying- will keep water and critters out when i store them below the cabin.

We went on a 7 day canoe trip and the dry bag held all our things. It was a little heavy so I would not hike with it, but for canoeing it sure beats having a bunch of bags that you must tie in the boat. Super glad we bought it.
