The lenses look dark but once you put them on they are really easy to see through but also block the sun very well. My only problem is they are a little small for my face - but that is not a fault of the glasses, just my preference. Otherwise, really great, well made glasses. Would definitely recommend.

I expect these to last for years, kept in my car in the hot Phoenix sun, because of the glass lenses, nylon frames, and no rubber parts. (Yes it's possible: my last sunglasses, with lesser materials, lasted 8 years in the car; imperfectly -- I'm thrifty.) Shiny Black/Brown Wood frames are black on the outside, woody inside. I don't have a small head, but these fit me fine.

The photo-chromatic lenses are subtle but they work in everything from bright to somewhat shady light. Note the fit is rather small--if you have a big head get a different style.
