A great three season jacket. Even though it is very light it can handle extreme cold.

Great jacket although the chest runs pretty big--I could probably fit a small watermelon along with my chest. I have rather long arms with a rather small chest (I'm 6'3"/160lbs) yet the size small fits me fairly well. Packs small, they probably could have knocked 33% off the size of the stuff sack. But it's warm, bordering on hot. I don't think that I will get cold while wearing this jacket.

This jacket seems to be well made. I was at Mt. Whitney last weekend and wore it when it got cold. The jacket isn't big and puffy. It is thin and puffy. Nice sleeves and wrist cuffs. I particularly liked the pockets. They have a very think nylon skin next to the body so that body warmth can heat your hands and on the back side of the hands there is soft fleece. The pockets are terrific. I hope this is warm enough for Mt. Kilimanjaro. I really liked this jacket and look forward to using it in Africa.

I have used this jacket in the city and the mountains cross country skiing when the temperatures have reached as low as -20 celsius and I have been comfortable with only a softshell underneath it. The jacket is not super puffy as other down jackets so it is also easy to layer a waterproof shell over it without looking too bulky. In terms of fit, I am slim build and this jacket fits great. Not as snug as the Columbia Alpino reversible down jacket in the arms and not as loose as the TNF Nuptse jacket. Other minor details that makes this jacket great are: 1) partial fleece liner at the collar near the face so its comfortable to wear when fully zipped 2) the windflap behind the zipper is stiffened to retain its shape to block the wind 3) a partial drawcord at the back to adjust the jacket so that it fits closer to the body and decrease the dead air space. This is the only down jacket that I have seen out of 12 with this feature. 4) the measured back length of this size small jacket is 27 inches when the jacket is placed on a flat surface without stretching the fabric. This is 4 inches longer than the TNF Nuptse size small jacket that I also own. The longer back length certainly helps to keep the cold air from entering from the back The only thing that I am still trying to get used to is the zippers for the pockets. The zippers is opposite of most jackets in the sense that you would have to pull the zipper down to close the pocket. This could be a bit of problem if you have lots of stuff in the pockets and items could fall out if you forgot to close it. The only thing to make this a perfect jacket would be to have an emergency hood that can be pulled out. The overall quality of this jacket is just excellent and as good or better than some of the bigger name companies out there. If you find one, I suggest you get it before its sold out because I haven't see too many of these for sale in online shops.

I was very impressed by the quality of materials and construction of this jacket. We also have a Cloudveil down jacket. This is slightly heavier, but the outer fabric is more durable. Fall weather brings freezing overnight temperatures to the Sierras and this jacket fits the bill. [...] has great deals.

My only regret in buying this jacket is that it's only September and too hot outside to wear it. I am a terrible gear snob with an overdeveloped sense of loyalty to brands like Mountain Hardwear, Marmot and The North Face. This jacket is absolutely in that league and you should not hesitate to buy Sherpa Adventure Gear when looking for premiere quality. I was lured in by the absurdly low clearance price on a 750 fill down jacket that is replacing a synthetic-fill TNF jacket that was not quite warm enough for the soul-chilling, wet, wind and cold of Vermont. This jacket is well cut and the attention to detail is outstanding. Extremely light, fleece lined pocket and chin, extra-stiff draft guard that won't snag in the zipper (nice not to struggle with a fouled zipper when it's really cold). One gear snob to another, BUY IT. It's 750 fill DOWN in a beautifully made jacket!! Don't hesitate just because you are not familiar with the brand (if you are, you probably bought it already). Quality is as good or better than the brands you know and the company has a great mission. Everyone who has seen it has been blown away by how nice it is and how little I paid. Comes with a stuff sack. Some would prefer that it stuff into its own pocket... whatever. No need for a hood. They make nice parkas if that's what you want. It's supposed to be lightweight above all - with as many nice features as can be added without adding ounces. The water resistant coating is nice for those times when you might get caught downtown in the snow or sleet without a shell - usually a feature found in MUCH more spendy jackets. In short, I was willing to spend more if it would have bought me more. I was looking for a premiere-quality jacket and this offered it at an incredible price. I would have had to pay twice as much for comparable quality and features (or less) from a better known brand and that would have been clearance prices!! It won't be long before this brand is recognized for being on par with Patagucci, TNF, MH, Arc'teryx, Marmot, and the others (no disrespect to those companies intended - all great brands whose products I own and love and for which I happily paid a premium).

A removable hood would be nice, and if it stowed into its own pocket.

Could use a removable hood, and wish it packed into its own pocket.
