Sherpa Adventure Gear Thyangboche Down Jacket (For Women)

I bought this product for mountaineering for lightweight warmth. WoW is this jacket warm. Being 5'1 and 105lbs I have a hard time finding jackets that keep me warm and fit right this one was right on in size and quality. The red material is slightly see thru but it adds to the character. Fantastic deal!

This coat is warm, and is great for layering. I probably would have got it in red instead of the taupe, as the fabric is rather sheer and you can see the down feathers, but since I am using it for layering, the color doesn't matter as much.

The sizing is pretty small - glad I read the other reviews and ordered a size bigger. I ordered a red jacket and I'm not impressed that you can see the down through the outer layer. On a plus it is pretty warm and very light.

This jacket is great. It just runs about a size small (I would normally be swimming in a large). It has a velvety lining around the neck that protects your chin, and it looks fairly elegant; some down jackets turn you into a marshmallow, but this one is pretty trim. I hike a lot, and when I get hot it breathes well so I don't feel sweat-drenched. At the same time, it's impressively warm. It's also somewhat water-resistant, at least in snow - either that or it dries out really fast. I considered getting a second one as a backup... but my size is gone.

I wore this jacket for snow skiing conditions. It kept me warm, with it being thin and lightweight it was easy to pack in its case and put into the suitcase for packing.

I LOVE this jacket! It is super warm and very lightweight. I ended up ordering a size larger (no med available) and I am glad I did since the sleeve length seems abnormally short. The size larger just fit in the sleeves; slightly too big everywhere else (more room for bulky sweaters..) Regardless, I am very happy with this purchase.

This jacket is so light weight yet very warm. It's not bulky and fits very true to size. I bought the black jacket. I love this jacket!

Ok, maybe the jacket itselk is not terrible... I just don't happen to like the down showing thru!! I feel like a duck!! I bought the taupe/brown, and the part that is taupe is really see-thru, I can see every swirl of the down, there's even BLACK down, as if it wasn't ugly enough going around looking all duckly!! It makes me nervous how easy I can see the filling, because I can't avoid thinking I'm going to be able to rip it sooooo easily. I can't recommend it, the quality is atrocious in that sense, and it doesn't have a hood, and the sleeves are too short (and I'm a size 0 or 2), and is just a bad purchase. I'm returning it.

I've been meaning to get a simple down jacket for years -- something to wear in the field for work or take on a backpacking trip, but also something to wear around town that doesn't make me look like the Doughboy. This jacket seems warm, though I haven't put it to the test, and it's fairly trim (not quite like a down sweater). It has a velvety material in the neck-chin area and an inside pocket with a zip. I originally ordered a Medium, but the arms were too short and tight and the shoulders too tight. I am "rangy" for being only 5'5" but also pretty slim, so I think it does run small -- the Large is much less restrictrive and enables as much layering as I want. Basically, this is the simple jacket I was looking for, and I'm just counting on the 750-fill power to be extremely warm. (By the way, the sleeves are 21" measured from the armpit.)
