Disappointed that the size was a whole size smaller than I expected. Shoes were also missing some parts. Had the cleat bolt, but not other parts for attaching it, nor the cleat or weather guard part. Hopefully missing parts were a fluke for this box from this company.

I recently switched back to SPD pedals and needed some shoes for my 10 mile daily commute. These are great, though a word of caution. These are Men's shoes! I have narrow feet which have always worked well in women's shoes, but I am swimming in these. Nothing that an extra pair of socks can't fix... but these really should not be considered to fit Women according to the size chart.

I bought these shoes because I wanted a less flashy cycling shoe and one that was not as slippery to walk in. These fit the bill. They have classic details and are robust. Initially, they hurt. I had plenty of room in the length, but the toe box was a bit narrow, smushing my toes. After a few commuting rides and a mountain ride, they feel much better. The vents seem adequate, I have yet to test them on a hot day, or a cold day. I am very happy with these shoes.

Question
“i don't want to "clip in" or use "cage" but I need more stability than a regular tennis shoe - I bike up to 30 miles two times a week - would these work for me?”

Answer
The cleats in the Shimano MT22 Cycling Shoes are only compatible with SDP pedals, if the spin bike's you use in your class have SDP pedals the shoes should work!

Question
“are these shoes something you could wear as normal shoes? I there flex? would they work as casual shoes off the bike?”

Answer
The Shimano MT22 Cycling Shoes are described as being comfortable enough to wear off the bike, the sole is design for off bike riding. I don't know that I would wear the as street shoes full time.

Answer
No, these shoes definitely can not be wear as normal/casual shoes. They are inelastic/stiff at base like real MB bike shoes. You can walk easily, but you will feel that you are wearing bike shoes. But they are comfortable enough because of soft around.
