As a former bike racer, I have ridden and raced many pairs of high-end racing shoes with carbon-fiber soles and have always resented paying the top dollar list price they command. The cyclist I am these days is not as performance oriented, but I still love the lightweight, pedaling efficiency and superior fit of a top quality-racing shoe. The Shimano SH-R190 is such a shoe. They fit my 9.5 medium sized foot right out of the box with no need to take advantage of the two point ratchet mounting system, which I can tell you from experience is a very nice feature for dialing in the perfect fit. In short the SH-R190 is an attractive, well-made, well fitting carbon-fiber racing shoe at an affordable price. The only reason I haven't given them a five star rating is because it's far to cold to ride outside this winter.

Like most shoes they felt a little tight at first but after breaking them in with several of rides 40-60 miles and getting to know where I like the strap adjustments they feel fine and have had no problems or anything to complain about with them so far.
