So I purchased the size smaller and it was just a tiny bit too small but still on the wide side. It was very frustrating because they were what I was looking for but ended up returning both.

Well - I find them to be perfect. Yes, my feet are on the wide side, but not freakishly so! I never have to order "extra wide" shoes, though I do tend to pick brands that do not run narrow.
As for floppy, they are not meant for hiking. There is no ankle support, but you don't have that on regular shoes either. Yes they are floppy - it is pure sheepskin without any artificial support fabric. But that is what makes them sooo comfy.
Seriously, I do not want to take these off. I need to jump in the shower but am delaying so that I do not have to take these off my feet! :)
I normally only wear flip-flops except when it is freezing cold, and at last I have found the winter equivalent of flip flops. I'm thinking of ordering a second pair for future use after these wear out - the price is so fabulous compared to UGGs.
