Closeouts. Here's a great tent for two from Sierra Designs. It's spacious and offers ample head room. Use your trekking poles, and the double track vestibule lets the fly become an awning.

I use this tent for motorcycle camping trips. The small stuff size is a real plus. It's a bit heavy, but for my use, that's OK. It seems to be well made, it was easy to set-up, and I really liked having 2 openings...one on each side...no more crawling over the other person to exit the tent. Lastly, I think it was a great buy for the money...thanks S.T.P.!!

I bought this tent for use in my job with the Forest Service in Wyoming. We set up base camps when doing certain projects or in fire camps. I would use it for shorter backpacking trips as well. This tent held up well and was quick and easy to set up and take down. This is nice after a long arduous day, then early rise. I am a big guy and it is very comfortable. My feet don't touch the end where in most tents they do and therefore cause moisture to come in through the wall (I'm 6'3").
I also used it in Edisto SC where the nights produced very heavy dew. There was no condensation inside at all. Great tent!

Don't get me wrong, this is an awesome tent. Its very easy to set up and very functional. I've used it for car camping and have 0 complaints. It's advertised as being a light weight backpacking tent though, and it's definitely not. I used it this past weekend on a mountaineering trip and I split the fly, tent, stakes, and poles up between a buddy and myself to make it work. Not so bad once we did that, but way too heavy/bulky for 1 person.

If you need a backpacking tent that works well for two in warmer months, this is your tent. My wife and I love the easy set up, lots of ventilation, sturdy design, etc. Sierra Designs is a great brand for tents and this model is ideal for most backpackers that need a two-person shelter. A bit heavy, but who cares about another pound if it means sleeping in a warm, dry place?

use on a motorcycle, great. with sturdy and dry comes weight, not too much though. there are faster tents to pitch. but the delta is roomy and comfy, nice 2 door design, large vestibule one side small the other. too few pegs and guys, get a extra set. i used like 16 pegs and 4 guys proper direction in the wind and the thing is serious bombproof. i could have used 2 more guys, but all worked well. the rain fly can zipped down from the top on each side a little for added vent, would be nice to have a scoop type vent but it worked. I also always lay a sham-wow type cloth on the top of any tent for condensation directly over where my head will be, but that's just me, condensation was not a real bad issue with me and the delta. although it's best to guy out (extra guys needed) the edges of the fly for added air flow, then i could use this in Moab, UT or a Montana winter. I would not hike to the mountain top with this but I guess with a footprint (added weight) you could. for car or motorcycle 1 or 2 man it's great, guyed and staked proper it takes 60 mph winds (after that get indoors dummy). don't know about snow weight but i would think it will handle all the snow I want to camp in. there is a time and place for best western. a twin size areobed can fit and still have floor space at the head or foot so any 2 selfinflators I can think of will fit. I bought on closeout and really like it. My other tent is a North Face Tephron 22, the delta is bigger a 1.something heavier and requires camp dry more often. the NF 22 is really a one man, this delta is a two man. i can set up the NF 22 very fast this takes a few mins. (5 or so) longer setup. strong buy with a few extra pegs.

Although the Delta is heavy and not suitable for the recreational backpacker, this tent makes for a fast set up. We've had ours for over two years and it's held up well both in continuous rain and windy weather. The only thing we didn't like was that since it's a "retired" model[...]We were able to find something comparable but not quite the same.

The tent is very waterproof (went through a thunderstorm and tent was in a puddle of water, but no water came through. The tent is big enough for tall folks (partner is 6'4" and fit fine). The tent only comes with 7 stakes, would like to have had 10. The fly has a nice vestibule but the zippers get caught on the zipper flaps very easily. Also the fly has leaked in two places (where buckles were attached to roll it up). The leaks were minor and never dripped enough to even go inside the tent. The fly did get a lot of condensation on it but that only happened in a thunderstorm. It is great to have two doorways! I would buy it again.

A friend and I traveled cross-country with this tent for 2 weeks. We had some heavy rain (in Yellowstone), and some hot air (in the Badlands). The tent performed great. It's pretty roomy for two mid-size persons even if you are not very close. The only con is that it's too heavy, which limits its use for car-camping only. I have to buy a SD Lightning for backpacking trips.
