I was looking for an around-town waterproof jacket. This jacket filled the bill perfectly. I wasn't buying a technical garment. I bought the jacket a size larger purposefully for layering. The jacket is very waterproof and a perfect amount of warmth for the Pacific Northwest. It doesn't appear their is any way to stowe the hood which for the price is ok.

Nice jacket. Thin insulation, so not bulky. Truly waterproof and breathable with taped seams/zippers. Zips open under arms to allow excess heat to escape when too warm. This was a good value for the $.

I HAVE THIS JACKET IN WHAT SIERRA DESIGNS CALLS BLACK, BUT IS ACTUALLY DARK TAN/LIGHT BROWN, IT'S EXTREMELY WATERPROOF, EXCELLENT IN VERY COLD CONDITIONS, EXTREMELY WIND PROOF, HAS THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF INSULATION AND ITS WEARS JUST LIKE A SHELL, PLENTY OF POCKETS, JUST AN EXCELLENT JACKET, ORDERED THE MIDNIGHT BLUE/TRUE BLUE, THE COLORS THAT ONE SEES ON THE SITE ARE NOTHING WHAT YOU RECEIVE, SIERRA DESIGNS MIDNIGHT BLUE IS A DARK FADED BLUE, REALLY LIGHT, IF YOU CAN GET OVER THAT THE JACKET IS AWESOME

I love this jacket. It's great in the elements and I've used it to commute on the bike as well as just walking around town. Zips are a little stiff (this mostly ok except when your fingers are very cold) and the zip that is at the underarm vent got very stuck one night in an OPEN position. It took me a while to work through and even then, it is now not all the way closed. I've gotten lots of good comments on how good it looks. It packs really nicely too!
Cons: Zips Need Work
Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser
Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile
