If you truly want to keep dry, this is your shell. I DO emphasize shell, because below 40 degrees, it can't be considered "warm". WIth an underlayer (I used North Face Ascent 800 series down lightweight jacket), you absolutely can make up to 40 below zero and remain comfortable. I do not care for... Read More

I don't like bulk, so this is a great foul weather jacket for me. I use it early winter/early spring in wet weather, good for hikes, yard work and running around town. Lightly padded and warm, it's perfect for 35-degree weather with a light sweater or other thin layers under and up to 55-degree with a long sleeve t-shirt under. Packs small. Lots of pockets to help keep me organized. The sage green is subtle and stylish.

I love this jacket, my husband has the down insulated one and when I saw this one, I knew I had to have it since the construction is excellent. My one critique is that the zipper is rather firm so it sticks into my neck when I sit down if I don't have it fully zipped.

Looks like a great jacket but it was way too big. I had to send it back and try and find a small but it's a jacket I would like to own.

I ended up returning this one in preference of another coat I ordered... this one was built for someone with much broader shoulders and a short torso. It was not flattering or comfortable on me. It was also not very warm at all and would definitely need some layers underneath, but the material seemed really high-quality.

Great Jacket. I will need some kind of a under layer like a sweatshirt in order to stay warm enough of the mountain, but what a great jacket. I tend to have issues with the sleves being long enough and these are plenty long.

  • Question “What is the sleeve lenght on this jacket in the small size?”
Asked on 2/5/2012 12:00:00 AM by Denise from Destin, FL
    • Answer Sleeve length on a small is 34".
Answered on 2/9/2012 12:00:00 AM by Product Spec. Marv from Sierra Trading Post
    • Answer I have the medium and I'm midway between a petite and regular sleeve length. Often jacket sleeves are a bit too long for me, but this one is just right. Velcro wrist ties are there to cinch it up more if need be.
