Sierra Designs Thunder Rain Pants (For Men)

These pants would be excellent for keeping in your backpack for hiking. They are light and would slip on and off quickly. They aren't at all breathable, however, so I returned them. I had hoped to wear them while cycling, but they weren't breathable enough for that. I could have kept them as gear for heavy rain only, but that didn't seem worth it. One fit note: the waist seemed a little tight to me. One size up might be a better fit.

Use for bicycle commuting to work

I had to wait to rate these pants until I had actually ridden my motorcycle in the rain. They're light and easily packable, have two convenient small front pockets, and most importantly, kept me dry on a recent ride home. I've had lots of problems with [$]+ suits leaking, but these performed well and did not leak. They fit over my jeans just fine, and I did not have to remove my boots to put them on or take them off. I cannot rate the durability at this point, but if they last 3 or 4 years, then it will be money well spent.

I use the pants as light weight dependable rain gear for those unexpected wet outings

I haven't worn them in wet weather yet, and I bought them for snow blowing our property... They fit well on me 6'2" 204#..
