Closeouts. Simms Blackfoot chest waders offer the convenience and stability of a one-piece wader and boot combination. These feature Simms QuadraLam technology, and the attached Muck Boot Wetlands boots have a felt outsole that's ideal for slippery, rocky conditions.
Reviewed by Flygirl from Michigan on Wednesday, September 4, 2013I ordered these for myself - I wear a size 8 women's shoe and am a size 6-8, about 5'5". They seem to fit very well and quality is great. I can't give them a 5-star rating because I haven't gotten them wet yet. Will report back when I do!
Verified Buyer Reviewed by LI fisher from NY on Saturday, June 30, 2012Needed to replace leaky bootfoot breathable waders and being a previous wearer of Simms brand, I know they make quality waders here in the USA. Being a fisherman of over 100 days, I know that most bootfoot waders eventually leak, mostly at the seam where the boot joins the leg of the wader. Felt bootfoots for women are getting difficult to find and these fit the bill. They are lightweight breathable fabric, nice Simms color and include the very comfortable Muck boot. Being a woman wearing size 8.5 shoes, I chose the men's size 7 boot which is a perfect fit when wearing a thin wader sock underneath. I phoned Simms before ordering to check the mens/womens size conversion. For those who might want one, there is no little inside flap pocket but this didn't concern me.
When I received the waders, and knowing how sometimes they can leak right out of the box, I ran a bright flashlight down all the leg seams and yes, as has happened before with waders, I saw a bright light shining through two of the sewing machine holes in the leg seam. Even tho' these seams are all taped, I know this would let water in so I just smeared a blob of Aquaseal/Goop over the little hole to seal it up, wore them in the water the next day and there was no leaking. I would advise checking your waders in the same way before wearing them.
Other than that, these are quality entry level waders - (considering that Simms makes waders up to $700 in GoreTex)and I think and hope I will get a couple years of hard use out of them:)
