Well made, and sized as indicated. Anxious to try it out in some wind to see how Simm's Windstopper product matches up with other brands. Four stars because it hasn't been put to the real test, yet...but Western Ak Rainbows be ware...it will be in your neighborhood soon....

Great jacket! Light weight soft shell that lives up to the name windstopper. Excellent construction, quality, fit and price. Roomy enough for light layering but not a lot. Not a "cold weather" jacket but plenty good for fall, spring and evenings on the water...or in town for that matter. Hold up fine and dry in light rain fog & mist though not billed as waterproof. Plan to purchase another one for my son as well. Highly recommned. Good value.

This jacket is everything you expect a Windstopper Soft Shell with the Simms name on it to be. It is clear that this jacket was designed for the serious fly fisherman, yet it is just as effective for other outdoor sports and as a general everyday jacket. The jacket is not overly heavy or bulky, yet it does provide a generous fit. When conditions are very cold and excessively windy, I wear a Primaloft jacket underneath it for the perfect combination of warmth and wind protection. As a stand alone piece, worn over a long sleeve t-shirt or a fishing shirt, there is superb protection from wind and light rain and even heavy snow, as well as providing perfect body temperature control. The zippers and closures are all very stout and durable. The arms are of generous length for ease of casting movement and the waist cinch system makes this jacket fit well either under or over chest waders. The chest pockets are well thought out and designed, with plenty of room for fishing accessories, and the hand warmer pockets allow you to access the waist cinch system from inside the pockets. My primary use for this piece is fly fishing in challenging weather, but it will also make a great garment for skiing, hiking, traveling, and lifestyle applications.
