“Too Small”

By Fishing the Weber from Sunset, UT on 11/30/2009
Pros:
Breathable, Dries Quickly, Tough Material
Cons:
Poor Footing, Runs Small, Stockings too Small
Best Uses:
Cold Water, Fly Fishing, Freshwater Fishing
Describe Yourself:
Avid Fisher
Sizing:
Feels too small
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
“I am 5'9" and typically wear a size 18 with all clothing retailers. I ordered these in XL per Simms' sizing chart. When I put them on they felt tight in the thigh, crotch and butt area. The knee area felt good with plenty of material for flex and give, but they skimped on the material for the upper thigh and butt area. I fish throughout the winter, and wear a base layer and fleece pants, but with these waders it felt 'fitted'; Most important, I was scared if I bent too quickly, I'd bust out. lol The stocking feet run small. I wear a 9-10 shoe and they were form fitting with a thin pair of socks. Simms no longer makes this model for women, but they do make a Headwaters model. Hopefully they have fixed the sizing and re-engineered it to a womans body, because I do like their commitment to quality and guarantee. If you don't want to pay return postage, make sure you try them on before purchasing. In the meantime, I have permanently hung up my Simms G3 waders until I slim my thighs, and have been wearing my other brand women's waders in a size large (with the base layer and fleece), whose stocking feet allow room for thick snowboarding socks.”
