Closeouts. The felt sole on Simms' Guide boots provides superb traction on slick surfaces. These waterproof nubuck boots offer excellent ankle support and have a rubber toe cap that provides extra protection from unseen obstacles.

I've been using them for a season, about 50 days in the water. My back and feet could not thank me enough. If you are wading in slick conditions you can add the studs, but the support from these boots is amazing.

Spend a little more and get something comfortable and that lasts. I'm 6'1", stout 260lbs, fly-fish steelies in the great NW and love these boots. Get a size larger if using neoprene waders or winter fishing. Boots are comfortable to hike in, but a bit heavy. I ad studs for extra grip. Hex head, non-rusting screws from the hardware store are thrifty and effective.
