Simms Guide Wading Boots - Felt Sole (For Men)

Bought this boot at full price, it was great for a while, but afteer 6-10 trips, the toe box collapsed, and when it dried, it dried with a curling that made the toe box so small, I could not get my foot in the boot. No amount of conditioning, wetting, working the leather could get the curl frozen in the leather to come out. The leather at the toe box became like iron, and was too small to fit the foot in...making it unusable...sent it to Simms where the nice folks replaced the boot and the new version (not in leather) has worked fine...but I would not recommmend this older version at all

After drying out, these boots harden up like a rock. Despite efforts to clean them after fishing, every time they dry the toes sort of curl, and it is really difficult to get them back on for the next time out. I've taken to putting my feet in them and waiting until I get to the stream and get to the water to tie them, because they're much easier to tie once softened by the water. Additionally, their rock-hard texture has put increased stress on the neoprene booty of my waders, creating a tear in them from continued forcing into the boot. Save your money and get something else.
