The side zips give great full length access, but there is no fly and the top closes with a a drawcord. There are belt loops, but seriously, who uses a belt on rain pants? I work in the rain in the forest and spend time on the ground - I'm not sure that these will hold up as a well as more heavy duty bibs in that situation, but as an everyday rainpant that is light and simple these are great

You can zip either up from the bottom or down from the top; makes it so you can have access to your trouser pockets underneath. I also like the velcro fasteners at the bottom so you can keep water out of your shoes.
