Simms WaderWick Long Underwear Zip Neck Top - Midweight, Long Sleeve (For Men)

I bought 3 of these and just used them on a steelheading trip. Great base layer because it is so thin and snug, snug fit in sleeve keeps them in place. Still, doesn't feel tight, and incredibly warm for its ultra light weight. I can't wear one inside the house, it's too warm. Zip collar allows ventilation and flap under the zipper protects from wind and rain even when fully open. One of these will fit perfectly under my flight coveralls for early season flying.

as with all of Simms products, this is a well made and functional garment. However, it is not midweight--but as a lightweight layer its very comfortable and works well.

I have lots of baselayer stuff--patagonia, Simms, Filson, UnderArmor, et al. This is a nice garment but it definately not midweight. however, very comfortable and well made.

layering for fly fishing

Nice to wear in the sun, as it allows me to get tan without becoming burned. Extra material behind zipper disallows use in fully open position

My intent was to purchase this top as a baselayer when I go snowboarding in really cold weather. The top is listed as midweight however when comparing this to other midweight tops, I would consider this a lightweight baselayer. I can still use this top but not for cold weather active use.

So far, Simms has not disappointed me.

Useful and so far pretty good.

Pheasant Hunting SD. 4° 30-40 mph wind. I layered w cotton T shirt underneath and 2 long sleeves over the top. OK. 30° 30mph wind. Dripping wet cotton T and this shirt. Not sure if it wicked away or not. I have similar at less cost.

Almost prefect quick dry base layer for me, except feel a little pressure on my neck when I fasten zip.
