Thanks to this design of carabiner, the fighting to get the attached pro off your rack at the crux is now over. It seems that on 2 out of 3 difficult climbs, you struggle with getting a piece off your rack and into the rock, before your fingers give way or your large toe cramps up. This additional struggle is all due to the tab/hook part built into the nose of most other regular biners. The tab/hook part is nonexistent on this particular design from Simond. I always believed someone would design a hookless biner, and it's now here - only took 20 years of waiting.

this biner is awesome. the nose is supper smooth! Its so easy to slip on and off slings and bolts. it even comes off with ease when under tension because the way its shaped with no hook at all. i love them and you will too!

This is one of if not the best straight gate carabiner available. These have the smoothest and fastest clipping action of any biner on the market. When attached to a draw, you can clip in one smooth motion rather than the in-and-down movement necessary with other (even keylock) biners. This action takes a minute to get used to, but then you realize that it is an easier, faster motion that makes clipping easier, which could make the difference on the crux clips. Also, these absolutely never snag! When cleaning them from bolts or gear, they come off more smoothly than any other biner available. When used for racking gear, the unique shape of the nose wiggles into a nest of other biners or slings better than any other. This attribute is a direct result of the smooth, almost spike-like nose end of the biner that can easily penetrate a mass of other biners on a gear sling or thread through a nest of slings/biners on a crowded anchor. The snag-free gate is also a tremendous advantage over even other keylock or "notchless" carabiners. These unrack from your sling very smoothly and never hang up at all. They are much smoother when removing them from a gear sling or from an anchor piece than other keylocks, which can still hang up slightly, and they absolutely outperform conventional notched-gate biners. Overall: great for racking, great for the clipping end of a draw, just a great overall biner.
