    A little awkward to use at first, now feels very natural. For the price, there aren't any other belay devices that can do all the things this one can, from top roping to top belaying, a nice design to lower from above with a weighted rope. Not the most chik but gets the job done for [$].

    I have used baleys before. But never a Baley/Rappel device combined. It seems a bit confusing and the instructions only show pictures not actual written instructions. I will have to wait to use it till I find such instructions.

    The strange design and multiple part construction leave me doubtful. It is hard to take up slack quickly because the devise tends to clamp down on the rope. I returned it so I didn't get the chance to get used to it.

    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    I had sharp metal slivers come off the edges of the attachment point due to poor metal casting. NOT GOOD. Also, I could not take in enough slack at the top of a climb to release anchors and rappel, this thing really bites down on the rope.
