Great pants, however, the brand name is incorrect. These downhill pants are made by Royal. A great mtb apparel company. I was actually hoping that the picture was correct and that they were not SixSixOne.

First off, these pants are the color as pictured on Sierra Trading Post. While they are described as Black/White/Red they are really Black/White/Grey; the only red on them are tiny little accents, as pictured. And they are Royal not 661. These pants are well-constructed and rugged but I don't really like how they feel when I pedal. I am accustomed to light jeans and BMX racing pants and these Royal race pants feel much heavier than my old Haro BMX pants. These Royal pants weigh 2 pounds, in fact. The velcro shin-leg panel and the shin zipper make that part of the pant feel too heavy for my tastes. As a result I would really only suggest these pants for DH. With that said, these are the coolest looking pants I could find and after I have a tailor remove the lower zippers/slash velcro panels I will really like these pants. Note: these pants have no padding other than a very small lower-back pad but the rip-stop nylon is quite thick and there is plenty of room for pads to be worn underneath the pants.

Everything appears to be what I wanted, only trouble was determining sizes. Ordered 2 pair to fit a 6'2 tall 32 waist and a 6'0 tall 33 waist, both who normal wear large. The waist straps had just enough adjustment for the short guy, waiting to see if fit the tall guy. Including in the fitting chart the leg length would have helped whether or not Mediums would have fit better.

I don't race as much as I used to and don't really care what you think about wearing down hill pants on a cross country trail. If the truth were known, you wish you had some of these pants to keep the winter goo off your spandex.
