The fabric is part of that - it is a glossy black. The picture does not do it justice. It wear an 8 in this brand, and ordered an 8. It will look good with a lighter sweater. If you want to wear a heavy sweater, you should size up. On sale, too. What a deal!

It is longer than my previous jacket, which means there aren't gaps between the jacket and my pants and I stay warmer. The knit cuffs (attached inside the sleeves)prevents gaps between the sleeves and my gloves, again increasing warmth. I will say that the coral jacket I ordered is a bit brighter than it appeared online...I like it and have received many compliments on it, but if you really don't like bright, this color is probably not for you.
