About Ski Poles

Ski poles are commonly used for balance while making your turns down snowy slopes, and they come in many forms made for cross country skiing, Nordic skiing, alpine skiing and more. Wrist straps and baskets are found on most cross country and alpine ski poles so you don’t lose them in a fall or off of the chair lift and so they don’t sink too far into the snow pack respectively. Some ski poles are made to be adjustable so you can enjoy the convenience of the same poles for your backcountry climbs or snowshoeing and your downhill rides. Adjustable poles use quick locking mechanisms so adjustments are made easily, even with gloves on. Carbon ski poles allow the right amount of flexibility and sturdiness, and the carbon material is lightweight for agility. Check out carbon, adjustable and cross country ski poles from brands like Komperdell, Alpina and Life-Link.
