5.0 out of 5 stars. 4th Jacket!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Campaholic from Massachusetts on Wednesday, May 11, 2016This is the fourth SmartWool jacket of this type that I own, although the first hooded style, which I adore. I bought this one as a replacement, as my daughter pilfered-poached-pirated my beloved medium sized jacket. I am wide shouldered, medium build and the medium fits comfortably snug with a SmartWool zip neck top layer. Excellent for layering under another jacket on cold days. The large affords more room for additional layers. I love the features, and use the jacket(s) most of the year as a jacket, or layer.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Fantastic lightweight outerjacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by Modegirl from NYC on Wednesday, January 13, 2016There might have been a quality control issue regarding these; the only way to explain the bad reviews. Mine didn't have defects I heard others had - the description may be a bit misleading...can't imagine What a Ponytail Opening is....? (The hood is fashioned with one panel going up the back). The styling is somewhat fit with room for baselayers and the fabric is like a lightweight neoprene. I love fingerholes, so also a plus. I am 5'4" and the Medium was perfect for me as a midweight jacket. The hood is very closefitting though and gives a look of a scuba diver, zipping up over the chin

5.0 out of 5 stars. great jacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by Ouray County Amy from Colorado on Monday, January 11, 2016I love that this can go from work to the trail. Very stylish. I probably should have gotten an XL...L is just barely big enough (I'm 6' and 150#).

5.0 out of 5 stars. Love this jacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by Jules from St. Louis on Wednesday, January 6, 2016This is a superb piece of clothing, well made and warm for its weight. The small seems a tad big, so I ordered an extra small in another color as well, but will be keeping both as one is good for layering underneath, and the other will be good more as a base layer itself. (I'm 5'3" 110#, 34 B bust, 27" waist, 35" hips for reference)

4.0 out of 5 stars. great cycling jacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Missouri on Thursday, July 2, 2015My husband and I both have this jacket which we use primarily for cycling in cool/cold weather, although I use it at other times too. The hood is perfect for fitting under a bicycle helmet as it fits very close to the head. I trust Smartwool quality, as I have lots of socks and baselayer pants from them, so i think this should not give any bad surprises as I continue to use it.
My only two quibbles with this jacket are one, that the mesh lining inside the pockets catches very easily on my wedding ring. I'm not sure why that part needs to be mesh instead of a solid fabric. Second, the lower hemline of the jacket is very loose compared to the slim fit of the rest of the jacket, unusually so. I tried to size down but the lower hem was still loose and the rest of it too small.
Medium fits great (except that lower hem) for a 5'8", 150 lb, size 32FF bust. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Love these jackets... So much I have 2!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Ratherbehikin from Wa on Thursday, May 21, 2015I originally bought the jacket without the hood - I love it so much and it looks so good I wear it more for dress than exercise! I decided the hooded one would work great for backpacking and other outdoor adventures so I bought it as well! And when there's a 40%off coupon who can resist!

4.0 out of 5 stars. Beautiful base layerVerified Buyer Reviewed by AnnaLaurie from Arizona on Wednesday, May 6, 2015This is a very well made, nicely tailored base layer with (hurrah) arms long enough for me (5"11" got size large). There's a little itch (I'm extra sensitive -- might not bother most people) that an undergarment might eliminate.

4.0 out of 5 stars. A bit large compared to normal Smartwool sizingVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Washington on Wednesday, April 22, 2015I loved this jacket...only issue I had with it was the sizing. It was a medium...fit fine in the arm length and hood was good...did not pull oddly on the head like some hoodies can. However, it was gappy on me, under the arms, and in particular around the lower hem. I am chesty, so this was odd...I expected it to fit a bit more more like a shirt. I admit, I am a bit on the narrow hipped side and have a slim waist and seat...so a chord would have solved this problem for me. I just did not want it to be gappy, as I play in the snow, and, well you know. I wear Smartwool products and this one is another great design and quality is very good. The fabric is thicker, and feels more like a jacket...but was stretchy so not stiff. I really wanted this to work for me. Just not the right fit on this style.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Love this hoodie !!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Opelika AL on Tuesday, March 31, 2015Oh this is the most wonderful hoodie I have ever had. Love the color and the fit and how warm and soft it is. I have used it alone and with my waterproof jacket over it. It is great either way. It is coming to Alaska with me this Summer and I expect to get a LOT of wear out of it. The fabric is pleasantly heavy without the jacket being too heavy...the quality of Icebreaker is simply outstanding.
