They are medium weight for good cushioning, but still fit in my shoes without making my feet feel claustrophobic. The tops are crew height and come about half way up my calf. (I'm a 5'5" female), and they stay snug all day. I have been very pleased with all of the SmartWool products I have purchased. (it's true, no itch)! This is another winner. I bought a pair in each color Sierra had to offer. I would recommend them.

They are not terrible but they are falsely advertised. These irregulars sell at LL Bean stores for $6. If they were $6 on this site it would be a different story.
