These are the softest, most comfortable socks I own. I haven't taken them for a hike yet, but I can't imagine a better cushion between foot and boot. And they're PURPLE!

The quality of the socks was just as expected...wonderful. The blue color is a LOT brighter than it is in the picture, so be prepared for that!

The socks, like all smartwool socks, seem to be great - comfortable and hopefully long wearing. The sale price may have been due to the color. It doesn't bother me!

I wanted some purple socks, and these do the trick. Smartwool socks are nearly always good, in my experience.

These socks are a pleasant color. They are very thick, way too thick to wear with most of my shoes. Consequently, I will have to give them away. It would be good if they could be described as being very thick. I love socks with padded bottoms, but these are padded all over. They need a more accurate description.

  • Question “Would these socks work well as running socks?”
Asked on 4/23/2011 12:00:00 AM by RunningGal from Northern California
    • Answer If you don't mind having a higher sock, this would work. They are a medium weight so will be warmer but wool wicks the moisture away from your foot to keep it dry.
Answered on 4/28/2011 12:00:00 AM by Customer Care from Sierra Trading Post
    • Answer Dear fellow sock wearer,||I am not a runner so cant give you really precise info, however, they have a well cushioned interior, and the merino wool is resilient and gives a bit of bounce. Apart from the bright bright yellow colour ( possibly invaluable if you are running in one of those dark Northern winters ) I would say these would be just right for your purpose.
