Very nice thick pad on the sole. Very good hiking sock. Probably too think for daily wear. Could not tell that they are factory seconds...other than it is printed on them.

I like hiking with these socks. They provide the right amount of cushion and keep my feet dry even after walking through streams. Warm and soft.

Great wool socks that are machine washable. Instructions say machine dry, but I simply lay them out and let them air dry. No shrinkage; and easy to get on.

    • Answer You will go by shoe sizing. The large will work

    • Answer You should choose the sock size recommended for the 9 shoe.
Answered on 2/25/2011 12:00:00 AM by Pat the provisioner from Cummington, MA
    • Answer Large. They fit fine even if a little large.|I wear 10 1/2 shoes and I own large and X-large smart wool socks, they both fit perfectly. After a couple of washings they fit your feet just right. Just remember to air dry, not in the dryer.

    • Answer These socks are not that much thicker than an ordinary cotton gym sock — a little, but not much.||They are about a thousand times warmer, though.||I often wear them with a pair of insulated LL Bean boots, which are awkward with thick socks.
Answered on 2/11/2011 12:00:00 AM by Patrick in CT from Lakeville CT
    • Answer I would say light to medium.

  • Question “my question refers to the "2nds" sock. I normally don't mind a blemish or two (as in scratch & dent is okay by me or a bruise on an apple is not reason enough for the produce guy to toss them in the trash ) if the price is right as long as the quality is still there. I purchased some smartwool socks at Bass Pro to make sure I like them and I do. Have you had any issues with the quality of the 2nds you sell? And if they are not satisfactory are they returnable to your store.||Thanks,|Mark”
Asked on 2/4/2011 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from stilwell, ks
