• Question “Since these are for both men and women, I need to ask a sizing question. If I wear a size 8 and 1/2 women's shoe, what size in these SmartWool Hiking Socks do I need to order? I looked for a sizing guide but did not see one.

  • Answer I too wear women's 8 or 8.5 shoe--and ordered size Medium in these socks. They fit fine.

  • Answer I can't answer your question directly but if you look hard enough you will find a sizing chart on the page. I couldn't find it either but finally did and I wear an 8 1/2 - 9 and they fit me fine using the chart

  • Answer I would order a large to allow for shrinkage if you dry your socks. You don't want them tight anyway.

    I would recommend a Medium size sock, based upon your shoe size, as shown in the above link.
    
    I recently ordered some mediums, which ran a little snug. In the past I have odered based upon my shoe size and the socks have run true to fit. Depending upon how you care for them they may shrink a bit. I generally wash mine using regular deteregent with other clothes, I notice a little shrinkage initally but not enough to cause concern.

  • Answer Large. They fit fine even if a little large.|I wear 10 1/2 shoes and I own large and X-large smart wool socks, they both fit perfectly. After a couple of washings they fit your feet just right. Just remember to air dry, not in the dryer.

  • Answer These socks are not that much thicker than an ordinary cotton gym sock — a little, but not much.||They are about a thousand times warmer, though.||I often wear them with a pair of insulated LL Bean boots, which are awkward with thick socks.

• Question “my question refers to the "2nds" sock. I normally don't mind a blemish or two (as in scratch & dent is okay by me or a bruise on an apple is not reason enough for the produce guy to toss them in the trash ) if the price is right as long as the quality is still there. I purchased some smartwool socks at Bass Pro to make sure I like them and I do. Have you had any issues with the quality of the 2nds you sell? And if they are not satisfactory are they returnable to your store.||Thanks,|Mark”
