Under most circumstances I would be ok with 2nds, but these were so big and loose that they bunched in my boots. And I do not have small feet. Futher, they do not look anything like the photo. There is no coloured band at the top of the sock and they are much less dense of a knit then what is shown. Also they are more charcol gray than light gray. I kept one pair because I had worn them, but returned the others.

Answer I know exactly what you mean - the french terry-like interior...Yes, these are identical to the thicker socks, but are a finer gauge. Same feel of polyester first, then wool, and a nearly identical construction.
