Most wool socks are too tight or too thick, but these are just right . The insides are a little bit thready ( like embroidery) but once you get past that they are very comfy, not itchy, and nicely warm.

Whether walking or hiking, I'll only wear SmartWool these days! This was my third order - now I have enough crew socks, knee socks, and ankle socks that I don't have to resort to wearing other socks because my SmartWool socks are all in the laundry! Great price - they are listed as 2nds but I don't see any flaws! And I've had my first pair for over three years so they obviously hold up!
These sock are Merino Wool which does not shrink like regular wool. They also have a lot of stretch.

I have small and medium in Smartwool socks. There doesn't seem to be much of a difference between the two sizes. I have not dried them in the dryer because I assume they would shrink since they are wool.

You should not see or feel any difference. 2nds: Minor cosmetic blemishes or irregulars which do not affect the fit, performance, or longevity of the item. Label is usually clipped by the manufacturer. A small flaw means big savings.
