I bought a pair of these tights, and liked them so much I went back and bought the other 2 colors. I like footless tights because I can wear them with socks (in boots) without material bunching on my feet. Sizing: I typically wear a size 4, and the small fits me perfectly. I'm not particularly ta... Read More

These are lovely tights--very pretty, and wool just can't be beat. However, I was on the edge of the sizing and wish I'd ordered up rather than down. Normally I worry about tights being baggy, but since I'd bought these for hiking in the rain, the extra room would have been a good idea. For wearing around town, the smaller size could be OK.

I wear these under yoga pants on chilly days and they do the trick. No one knows I have on two layers, they're that slinky, but very warm. LOVE Smartwool, and they go for such great prices here. I am 5'5", around 150 and the M is perfect.

These look great, but they are a tad itchy - itchier than the SmartWool long underwear I have. Also a bit short. I'm 5'7" 120 and the medium is definitely not too big.

I bought 2 . I usually wear small (5'2", 112 lbs) but I got medium this time which fit. I tried one on and it was warm but itchy. I will have to return one and keep one and see if I can tolerate. This does look nice.

I am usually a SmartWool addict. I have loved every article of clothing I've ever owned from the brand. However, these are just bad.

First, they run really small. I am 5'4", 130lbs. The Medium felt like I was stretching them past their limit. I gave a pair, size medium, to my sister in law, who is even smaller, and she asked me to return them.

Second, they are not soft and comfortable like every other SmartWool product that I've tried. They are seriously itchy! I would not want to sit on this fabric at the office all day or work up a sweat, wearing it as an under layer. That sounds awful to me.

My solution was to cut them off as boot lining/socks. They do look cute poking out the top of a boot, over a legging. I've compromised the integrity of the fabric, so they won't last long, but at least I'm getting some use out of them.

  • Question “Do these have a thick cuff at the ankle?”
Asked on 6/26/2014 3:21:48 PM by Hobbes from Cheyenne
    • Answer No, the ankle cuff is only slightly thicker than the tights, is 1 inch wide and knitted in one piece with the tights. It is not a stitched on cuff. And, atleast for me, the tights are itch-free as advertised

    • Answer not sure? what is a thick cuff?
Answered on 6/26/2014 5:04:31 PM by jai from virginia
    • Answer They do not have a thick cuff but do not ride up. These are beautiful tights, fit well & do not sag.

    • Answer No, they are as shown. Small ribbed cuff at the bottom.

  • Question “I'm 5'9" and 137 lbs. what size should I order?”
Asked on 2/23/2014 3:26:59 PM by Terry from Missouri
    • Answer these run small. a large was required for my friend who weighs around 125 and is 5'4" maybe. the medium was too tight . hope that helps.

    • Answer I am 5'2", weigh about 130 lbs and ordered the medium which fit well. My thought is that since you are taller than I am you are more slender and the medium would fit you. I love mine. I have worn them about three times a week for skiing since I received and the fit and shape are still like new. Most importantly, the tights don't itch. Hope this helps.

    • Answer I would order up one size from your regular. Their length is standard, but they run small in circumference. Your regular size could be too snug, unless you have very slender legs.

    • Answer I would suggest ordering the large. The medium are not going to be long enough. I'm 5'4. and while I can wear the medium, I'm actually more comfortable in the large, even though the legs are a little too long for me

    • Answer I found these to be very small. I wear a size 10. I bought a large and they were really small. I am not sure if they would fit you at all. They were so nice but I had to return mine.. Good luck. The wool is lovely as always.
