5.0 out of 5 stars. Utilitarian but warm seemingVerified Buyer Reviewed by RandomName from PNW on Thursday, December 20, 2018These will be great for hiking in very cold weather. They're not at all stylish but very thick.

2.0 out of 5 stars. "Irregular" accounts for the discountReviewed by Jessica from Georgia on Thursday, November 1, 2018These were a great deal at $10 a pair. Super thick, soft, insulating. But they arrived in a package marked "Irregular," which I suppose explains the discount. This should have been made clear up front.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Exceptional socks for wildland fireReviewed by Maine from Maine on Sunday, September 27, 2015For work, I wear heavy, unpadded, logger boots...they are tough both on socks and feet. These extra-thick Smartwools are just the ticket. Of course, your boots will need to be sized to fit with such thick socks.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great, warm, cushion-y, socks!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from White Mountains of New Hampshire on Tuesday, April 7, 2015I 'always' wear these socks when I wear my plastic winter hiking boots. Didn't one time this winter and have multiple, large, blisters to show for it. Thus, bought two new pairs of these, so next winter I'll be 'all set' again.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Mediocre socksVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Rhode Island on Friday, February 13, 2015The socks are comfortable and somewhat warm, but one pair of the two that I bought, was not made that well. The inner layer of white fabric stuck through the outer layer of the socks. Sometimes they seem real warm, but other times my feet are quite cold.

5.0 out of 5 stars. My new best friend for cold camping nightsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Seattle on Monday, May 19, 2014I won't be doing much mountaineering soon, but I will be backpacking in the Cascades a lot and I'm always cold. These super warm socks are just the ticket to keep my feet toasty and my spirits high even on the chilliest nights. So glad I finally found them!

5.0 out of 5 stars. Better B ColdVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Alabama on Sunday, May 18, 2014Warmest, most comfortable socks I've ever owned. However, it better be cold when you wear these socks. This past winter, I wore a pair for ten hours, in single digits. My feet never got cold. Feet did sweat a bit, but the socks wicked the moisture away. At the end of the day, my feet were not clammy and pruned. Note: Wore with Asolo Echo hiking boots.
