Not so with these! Unless I am doing longer-than-usual mileage, my feet are warm, comfy, cozy, and blister-free! Even with the longer mileage I can feel the difference between these socks and all the others I've tried. I have no idea why these are listed as "seconds," as every pair I've received has been first-rate.

I own other wool socks, but every time I wear "the others" I get blisters on my feet. Not so with THESE socks. The cushion my feet perfectly, protect me from blisters, and seem to relieve some of the stress that hiking places on my feet. I am ordering 5 pairs more today. SO GLAD I FOUND THESE!!!

Answer These are designed to wear alone as wool is one of the best wicking materials there is. You can wear a liner if you desire but most socks these days do not require you to do so.
