The review and the hiking expert at my local outfitter are absolutely right. These socks perform: they don't bunch,
they wick moisture so the socks and your feet feel dry when you take off your boots after an hour or two of hiking
in 85-degree weather and high humidity. Even if the socks are moist, they dry quickly on short breaks from the trail.
When I received my first pair of SmartWool socks as a gift, I left them in the drawer for months, thinking, "euuw, wool!
Those'll be itchy!" I put them on when nothing else was clean one day and they immediately became my favorite,
wear-all-the-time, go-to socks. It took me a year or more of near-daily use (including walking around the house in socks
and on hikes) to wear a hole in the bottom of one sock,so SmartWool means what they say when the high-wear areas
are more durable. Soo comfortable!!
