I am not someone that is an avid hiker, in fact I am quite the opposite but a group from my gym planned a 10-12 mile hike and I thought I would go. I was wearing new hiking boots and I thought I would try to lessen the fact that breaking a pair of boots in during a 10 mile hike was probably not the best plan. Someone suggested hiking socks which to a novice like myself seemed like overkill but I thought again if it cuts down on blisters, I will try it. I read a bunch of these reviews and decided on this sock. Yesterday was the test...I hiked 11 miles yesterday with new hiking boots on some rough terrain around the Delaware River Gap and I was the ONLY person in the group that came off that mountain without blisters. Not one. Fluke, maybe but I swear it was the socks. The fit was good, they were stylish, and the price was right.

The best socks for any use. I've been wearing them to sleep. It's really cold in San Francisco. Although it doesn't snow, it's a bone chilling cold. I used to have trouble sleeping, but not anymore. after these socks! They are a little thick for non-athletic shoes. A thinner version would be perfect for my work shoes (loafers).

I ONLY wear Smart Wool Socks. I have become a sock snob and can afford to be one with your great prices.

These socks are super warm and comfortable without being too bulky. The stretchy material in them prevents them from stretching out easily, so I can wear them multiple times before washing. They are great for cold weather, and they fit nicely in hiking boots or work boots
