5.0 out of 5 stars. warm with classVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Olympic peninsula on Monday, April 11, 2016when you need a little warmth but no bulk, this is the garment. It goes with anything (color) and looks good. It's my go to topper for almost any occasion but gardening. :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars. LOVE ITVerified Buyer Reviewed by spychic from alexandria va on Monday, March 14, 2016Can't say windPROOF b/c the wind gets in while cycling. BUT, it's warm without being bulky. The back panel is smart wool, the front is weather resistant. i love that it's lighter than down, compacts easily and since there is no hood, it is a perfect commuting by bike, transitional piece. kangaroo deep pockets, while not zippered, kept everything in them during my ride. inside pockets too, and the zippered chest pocket is a must for Chapstik. the iPod earphone port helps should you not have yet discovered the joys of cordless/bluetooth.

4.0 out of 5 stars. too bigVerified Buyer Reviewed by Ruby from New York on Monday, February 29, 2016I ordered this in a medium (I'm 5'3", 116 lbs) and I was swimming in it, especially in the shoulders and armholes, so I had to return it. It was certainly light and the back panel which was wool was thinner than I expected. I'm not sure I would order this again, even in a smaller size. For the price, I can probably find a lightweight, soft shell vest for cheaper and that's more water-resistant.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great Vest!Verified Buyer Reviewed by KAD from Maine on Friday, January 22, 2016I'm picky when it comes to vests but this one is great. Flattering fit without being tight, really warm and comfortable.I'm 5'4", 125 lbs with athletic build and this fits perfectly in a medium with a little room to move. Ordered icebreaker merino vest at same time and this one blows it away in terms of style and comfort (icebreaker is crazy tight in md). Two inside pockets are nice but not secure. Women need inside pockets too!!! Also, what do they think we can put in a breast pocket that is not going to look ridiculous?

5.0 out of 5 stars. perfect for indoor warmth, outdoor sportVerified Buyer Reviewed by SaraBeth from Colorado on Thursday, January 7, 2016great additional layer of warmth. Good for the wintery inside days, and a great extra layer for sports especially when layering for warmth is helpful

5.0 out of 5 stars. EffortlessVerified Buyer Reviewed by Bethla from Dallas on Tuesday, December 8, 2015The vest is almost sleek; very lightweight, nicely made. It is perfect for a mild winter climate like Dallas and also flattering if you pack a few extra pounds. As a regular Sierra Trading post shopper I thought it was expensive (only 50% off) but it is totally worth it. The back is slightly longer flat finish wool, the quilting on the front assymetrical with a subtle zippered chest pocket on the left. Large was true to size; I'm 12-14. Finally, it is great under other jackets.

5.0 out of 5 stars. great vestVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from New york on Monday, December 7, 2015It is very warm and light. It looks very neat and elegant. It is a big step up from the typical puffy vest that everyone else wears that looks like they lost their sleeves!

5.0 out of 5 stars. PerfectVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Tennessee on Saturday, November 14, 20155'10" 165lb female. Broad shoulders. Large fits well. Long enough for my long torso. I have a high threshold for getting cold. Wore during trip to Mt Leconte, high 30s low 40s. Wore over a lightweight base layer. Stayed warm until winds got above 15mph. Added a wind rain jacket, perfect.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Wasn't for me.Reviewed by midwestmamma from missouri on Monday, November 9, 2015I bought this in Persian red for a warm fall/spring vest. I liked the feel of the vest. It is very light, not bulky at all. The front was a shiny material in a beautiful red color....what I didn't like was the contrasting color on the back. It was a maroon/purple that didn't seem to go with the red on front. The back of the vest is the wool blend material, which left it feeling heavier in front and lighter in back. I might have been okay with the odd color combination if the fit was different. I am about 5'3" 130lb and I bought the medium. It felt true to size around the waist. It was not tight, definitely room for a few layers (which was what I wanted) but it was kind of baggy at the top, around the shoulders/neck. I also have a pretty short waist, and it seemed too short for my liking. It you are long waisted it might be too short. I had a coupon when I bought this, which made it much cheaper...but even with the further discount it wasn't enough for me to keep it. I will be sending it back tomorrow.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Wow!!Verified Buyer Reviewed by OneRoopee from Reston on Wednesday, October 14, 2015Smart wool quality... not to be disappointed. This is a great vest... wear it around the house now that its fall... I am an active person and like to work a lot with my hands so I tend to like vests that keep my torso warm but give me arm freedom. The front is a quilted nylon but I really wish the back was too. Its merino along the sides and back and gets caught in stuff like the dog gates, the leash in the bushes etc. I am 5'6" 115# and the S is perfect. Skimming yet not sausage skin tight ... :) Took away one star because I would have liked the back to be quilted as well and at least one zipped pocket to stick your phone in. Now if I bend the phone falls out. Other than that I love it. I think I might actually get a second one. I bought the natural with the grey back.
