I purchased a L/XL ,after reading all other comments of it running small, for our adorable almost 2.5 yr old grandson and it is too small.... could only be worn by an infant and yet rather odd colors for an infant and heavy as far as pom pom and all. I couldn't recommend buying it. I think sierra trading post should give these to those in need... it's what I am doing!

Cute hat, fits very snug on my 4 years old size L/XL. Vey soft and no itch, my son loves it. After 2 weeks of wear i found thread sticking out, knits broken on the top, and it's in poor shape. I repaired hat as much as I could, because my son really likes it, but I wouldn't buy another one. I got 2 hats, adult size Smart wool, which feels thinner, but still very cute for this hat replacement.

Child wears outside play and to and from school. It is so cute with pom pom and natural color goes with any outer wear.

SmartWool makes great merino wool products. My child is 7 years old, and I bought the size that is supposed to fit up to age 12. There is no fold material, so the hat barely covers top to bottom. I would be better off getting an adult knit hat and folding it up.

Very nice hat from Smart Wool.. However, it seemed a full size too small for my son and we had to send it back. We purchased a L/XL, so we could not exchange it for a bigger size. Maybe snug fitting b/c it is wool..not much stretch in it.

I purchased this hat for my 8yr old son who I would say has a pretty average size head. The hat was a L/XL and barely fit on his head.
